Desert Tour to Erg Chebbi
The golden dunes of Merzouga are among the largest sand expanses in Morocco, situated in the far southern region of the Tafilalt Valley, which is renowned as the cradle of ancient Moroccan civilisation. This area lies where the Oued Ziz meets the Oued Ghris before disappearing into the desert. It offers a diverse landscape, making it ideal for Saharan hikes. During these hikes, you can explore vast Regs, dotted with Saharan plants, and enjoy views of endless dunes dominated by the towering Erg Chabbi. There are also two intriguing wetland areas: Dait Essargi and Lake Yasmina. Additionally, you will encounter small rocky hills and dunes with Tamarisk trees towards Taous and Ouzina, along with the beautiful Oasis of Merzouga, which is nourished by underground canals.
